For the preschool Glada Ankan, I designed a shed for the kids bikes together with Johan from NOTVAB, the kids and staff at the school. Local beech wood was collected and chopped into 10 and 20 cm long pieces to fit in the structure. Together with the kids a clay based mortar was mixed from clay powder (from Bara Mineral), hemp straw (collected from a chicken coop nearby), horse manure (from a neighbouring farm), water, dried yarrow and sand (from site). The mortar and wood was applied using cordwood technique, the first part was finished in October 2023. Next step will be completed when the weather in southern Sweden allows it, in spring.
The bike shed is part of the larger schoolyard project, sponsored by "Gröna skolgårdar", Lund Municipality.
